We’re arranging an overnight camping trip to Jialuo Lake in the mountains of Yilan County at the end of the month. This hike is one of our personal favourites and an all round stunning trip. Camping out under the stars by the lake is a real treat (if the weather plays along), and there are plenty of trails to explore for those who still have energy after the tough hike up!
Total cost for this hike is 6500ntd.
This OVERNIGHT camping trip will take place on Saturday October 24th to Sunday October 25th.
We will meet at Wanlong MRT Station at 7:00am on Saturday morning and drive to the trail head. First, we need to hike up about a 4km section of the forestry road, then we will begin the steep ascent through a really beautiful pine forest (around 6-7 hours in total). We will camp out by the lake at the top of the mountain ridge, and hopefully explore the surrounding area.
The hike is a pretty difficult one because the trail is quite steep in places. There is nothing technical, but a degree of fitness is required, as we will be climbing about 1000 meters on the first day.
Dinner on Saturday evening, snacks and breakfast on Sunday will be provided. (Please bring your own lunch for Saturday).
Be sure to read the group’s rules, especially our refund policy
Required Equipment:
-At least a 40L backpack
-Sturdy hiking shoes or boots (Sneakers won’t cut it on this one)
-tent
-Sleeping bag
-Warm clothes – the lake is 2200m above sea level – It will be cold at night!
-Rain gear
-Food (Saturday lunch, snacks)
-2L of water
-Flashlight
-Toiletries and personal items
We can help with tents, sleeping bags and other equipment, just let us know ahead of time.
Be sure to read the group’s rules, especially our refund policy

It is a pretty tough hike, with some very steep sections and the odd bit of scrambling. However, the hike is a lot of fun and every bit as beautiful as some of Taiwan’s more famous mountains.
On this hike we’ll hike to the top of Chiyoushan and Pintianshan covering two of the four peaks.
This is an OVERNIGHT trip leaving Taipei on Friday Nov 16th and returning to Taipei on Sunday Nov 18th. We’ll spend two nights camping. Tents will be provided if needed.
Taiwan Adventures is leading another overnight hiking/camping trip! This hike is a great way to get out the city for the weekend and get into Taiwan’s great outdoors. Camping out (hopefully under the stars) by the lake is a real treat, and there are several trails to explore for those who still have energy after the tough hike up!
This OVERNIGHT camping trip will take place on Saturday October 20th to Sunday October 21st.
***ITINERARY***
We will meet at 7:00am on Saturday morning and take a van to the trailhead. From there we’ll hike the trail in to the lake, passing the water source before climbing and dropping down to the lake, where the trees open up and we have a large area to camp in.
No special technical abilities are required although the hike is fairly long (5-6 hours) and you’ll need to carry a backpack with food, sleeping bag and tent.
Dinner on Saturday evening, snacks and breakfast on Sunday will be provided. (Please bring your own lunch for Saturday)
